‘In other words’ is an expression used to introduce a state-ment that repeats what has been said in a different, and sometimes more exact way. In other words, this phrase pro-duces an edit, a duplicate, a double. The meaning behind this expression can be understood as a contemporary attitude toward visual culture – where images and texts of today circulate, are saved, copied, edited and circulated again to a degree where the original is sometimes forgotten. In other words, this exhibition is a reframing of an existing object, a statement, a fact.

Whether de-familiarised or reconstructed, poised in unlikely positions or presented in a more direct, clinical manner, each image plays on this duality. The prints hang unframed in space, revealing their materiality. Here, photography reveals the dissonance between presentation and representation. It expands on the relationship between ‘object and space’ and ‘object and image’ to offer multiple perspectives on thesame subject. In other words, it engages with different practices of making and looking.
